Local Dining
If your group is interested in foregoing one The Sanctuary’s exquisite dining experiences there are several options to choose from in Montezuma. Here are two recommendations:
Playa de Los Artistas
By far one of the best restaurants here on the Rich Coast, here you will find “fine dining at the edge of the ocean.” Marked only by a small sign along the side of the road, Playa de Los Artistes is the ultimate in romantic and private, for couples or special groups. Dining adjacent to the sand, soft music plays, candlelights flicker, cool ocean breezes flow. Offering a menu that changes daily, the food is diverse as it is delicious, organic, natural, and fresh! While much of the entire menu features freshly caught fish, vegetarians are sure to find tasty choices.
Recommendations: Reservations highly recommended; cash only
Cocolores
Cocolores ("Coconut Colors") Tucked back along the water's edge, Cocolores is a popular beach-front restaurant in Montezuma. Think...thatch ceiling... colorful lanterns hovering from above... homemade bread *always fresh*... napkins displayed, peeking out of conch shells. The food, the music, the decor, the waves rolling over and over just meters from your table make this lovely local place to dine.
Recommendations: Reservations highly recommended; cash only
Local Art and Artisans
Our neighboring town, Montezuma, boasts an artisan lined street set in a cozy cove in front of the Pacific Ocean. This is a great 10am-2pm excursion. You can get a fresh tropical juice, smoothie, ice cream, gelato, pizza and more while you shop for gifts for you and your loved ones.
