What makes The Sanctuary different from other yoga retreat centers in Costa Rica and the World?
The Sanctuary at Two Rivers was envisioned, designed and built by Yogis with the intention of creating a place exclusively for Yoga, meditation, expansion of awareness and cultivation of inner peace. Everything here, from the sustainable zen architecture to the organic vegetarian food is conducive to growth, transformation and harmony. We are not open to the general public so your group will experience private enjoyment of our 40 acre nature preserve and all of our amenities.

Are you close to the beach?
Yes. It is a 30 minute walk (about 1km) from the door of your casita to the beach across the street from our entrance gate.

What is a Blue Zone?
A Blue Zone is one of five regions on the planet where the concentration of people living into their 90’s and 100’s in robust health is the highest. Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula (the location of The Sanctuary at Two Rivers) is on this list! Some of the common characteristics of global Blue Zones are that the residents eat a plant based diet rich in legumes, integrate moderate physical activity into their everyday lives, don’t smoke, value their families and engage in their communities...your time with us at The Sanctuary will increase the quality of your life!

Do you allow pets?
We have some resident hounds (jungle rescue dogs) here at The Sanctuary who can be territorial when new additions show up to join the pack. There are also several other animals who call our wildlife preserve their home; some look cute and fluffy from afar but have sharp claws or other forms of protection that can do a number on curious dogs who get too close. For everyones stress level and safety, it is best to leave your four legged friend at home.

How many people can you accommodate?
We can host a maximum of 16 guests, including teachers.

Can I smoke there?
We do not allow smoking anywhere on the property. We reserve the right to ask any guest to leave with out a refund for not respecting this code of conduct.

Are there mosquitos?
Yes, there are some mosquitos and other insects who live here in the jungle but we are in a Tropical Dry Forest so there are not as many as there are in the Southern Coast, Osa Peninsula or Caribbean Coast. Loose cotton clothing and bug spray should do the trick!

What is your refund policy?
All payments are non-refundable.
